Dog & Bird ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a CAS card that I water colored which showcases the Dog & Bird from Great Impressions Stamps.

I stamped the Dog & Bird on Watercolor Paper with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink then commenced with watercoloring the image with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads, Marvy LePlume Markers, pallet, paintbrush and water. After coloring this adorable stamp, I used a dauber to apply the blue sky surrounding the image. I layered my coloring on my embossed panel, and a kraft panel to frame the image. The final step was to add the twine and pop the completed panel onto my cardbase.

I left the card without a sentiment so I can personalize it, by hand, for my nephews high school graduation card. It's not your typical graduation card, I know, but I'm going to use it for that purpose.

Vera & Mable Having Coffee ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a featuring Vera & Mable Having Coffee and Coffee & Friends Sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps.

I pulled out my Copic Markers for today's card. I had so much fun coloring Vera & Mable Having Coffee. A bit of fussy cutting and paper-piecing for Mable's flower and earrings, which I ran thru my Xyron Sticker Maker. I pulled the colors from my image to create the background, and then used some Liquid Pearls for the jewelry.

I then added the Coffee & Friends Sentiment to the inside of the card.

Someone Like You ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a birthday card inspired by the Paper Play Sketch #007 and Hand Stamped Sentiment Color Challenge #237 that showcases the Someone Like You Sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps.

Leaving the Someone Like You Sentiment as my focal point for today's card, I pulled out some Coral, Smoked Sea Salt and Spearmint cardstock from CutCardStock to create my background.

Of course once I was done, I thought maybe I should have embossed the base panel. I love the clean and simple design which is perfect for putting in the mail. I think I'm going to make a set of cards in different colors, and add that embossing that I left out (wink).

Happy Mother's Day ...

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a card inspired by the Muse Challenge #164 that showcases the  Bear with Flowers and Mother's Day Sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps.

I stamped the Bear with Flowers on Watercolor Paper with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink then commenced with watercoloring the image with my Marvy LePlume Markers, pallet, paintbrush and water. To get the darker brown color for the Bear I also used Vintage Photo Distress Ink for my watercoloring. Using one of my circle dies I outlined a half circle and added the sky background around the Bear with Flowers. White Liquid Pearls was applied to the center of all the flowers.

I stamped the Mother's Day Sentiment under the Bear with Flowers and added the ground cover. This is the same sentiment I used last week. I'm sure you are looking at the sentiment and wondering why it looks so different. Well ... I have a tendency to cut my stamps, and that is what I did with the sentiment as I wanted it to be one line.

This month our challenge is called "Blinged Birthday"

I created a feminine birthday card featuring one of our newest stamps ... Stylistic Peacock (H285) along with the Birthday Sentiment (B247)

I stamped the lovely Stylistic Peacock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and proceeded the color the image with my Copic Markers and Gelly Roll Glitter Pens. Nestabilities Dies where used to cut out the image and scalloped background. Tim Holtz Distress Inks were applied around the image with a dauber. I then pulled the colors from the Peacock for my background, where I embossed a panel, added some Want2Scrap Bling, stamped the Birthday Sentiment sentiment and then popped the Stylistic Peacock panel on with 3D Foam Squares.

Here's a closer look of the Stylistic Peacock panel ...

It's Time to Par-Tee ...

Good morning! It's the first of the month, and it's time for a New Challenge over at the House of CardsThis month we have a theme challenge for you ... use Vellum or Acetate Clear Papers to create your project.

For my card I went with Acetate Clear Paper for my cardbase, and the design of my card was inspired by the Sugar Sketch #51 (shown below).

I pulled out my new Sugar Pea Designs Tee-rific stamps for this months challenge. My husband and son both golf so this was a must have set for my stamp collection. There are 7 different images with 8 coordinating sentiments to use when creating with this set.

I stamped the adorable golfing penguin, colored him with my Copic Markers, paper-pieced his hat with the Xyron Sticker Maker, and put him on the side. I then added the panel on the inside of my Acetate cardbase, stamped the tee-box, and paper-pieced the greens and flag. With the inside complete, I closed my card and added a strip of DP along the top, popped on the adorable penguin with 3D Foam Tape, added a bit of washi tape along the bottom and stamped the sentiment on same.

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

Last step was to stamp the golf bag with clubs on an envelope to coordinate with my card.

Make sure you hop on over to the House of Cards Challenge Blog for all of the details for entering our Monthly Challenge. I can't wait to see what inspires you this month!
